Why?
I created this page with the intent of helping out fellow vegans with advice on how to eat healthy on a tight budget. I also wanted to adress the misconception that being vegan is costly or complicated. On the contrary! Meat has always been associated with opulence. Who is this page for? I will try to find a wide variety of information and recipes directed to large people groups such as college students, big families, u.s. residents and residents of other countries. (Just to name a few.) Well, thank you for visiting and I hope you find my site useful!
Cheap Recipe of the week
Pineapple oatmeal
1/2 cup rolled oats (not the quick cooking variety)
3/4 cup water or soymilk
1/4 cup cubed pineapple
1/4 tsp ground ginger (optional)
sweetner of choice to taste
Put oats and water/soymilk in a bowl. Cover and let sit in fridge overnight. (Alternatively you can cook this on the stove the next morning. You may need a tad more liquid) In the morning add the pineapple (canned is available through all seasons and relatively inexpensive.) , ginger and sugar. Stir and enjoy.
